The name Babbie Mason has achieved iconic stature and is synonymous with Christian

 

music.  The epitome of talent and integrity, Babbie is admired by fans and peers alike for her singing and songwriting prowess.  A host of awards and commendations grace her walls. She has been honored with eleven nominations for the coveted Dove Award, two nominations for the impressive Stellar Award and is the recipient of two Dove Awards and two ASCAP Awards for her singing and songwriting abilities.  For the past 24 years her melodious alto voice has taken her literally across the globe, engaging and encouraging audiences, performing for church concerts, women’s conferences and Christian organizations.

Babbie is one of a very few artists who has the ability to bridge the gap between a cross section of races, denominations and cultures.  Her music is sung around the world and has been translated in over twenty languages.  Her gifted musicianship and gracious personality have opened countless doors to bring her before great men and women from the governor’s mansion to the United Nations.  She has graced the platform with such notable names as Dr. Billy Graham, Dr. Robert Schuler, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Bill and Gloria Gaither and former presidents Carter, Ford and Bush.

Few can deliver a song like Babbie Mason.  Her twentieth recording, Everything, perpetuates her passion to deliver songs that the entire church can sing.  This stunning project contains songs that encourage and enhance the corporate and private worship experiences.  The majority of the songs come from Babbie’s own pen, but she teams up with a few of her favorite co-writers, including her son, Chaz, who has developed a budding singing and songwriting career of his own.

 

Babbie’s recordings have produced eight top-ten radio singles and countless #1 hits on the contemporary, inspirational and gospel music radio charts.   Her compositions can be found in the church hymnal and titles such as All Rise, With All My Heart, Each One Reach One, Stop By the Church, Standing In the Gap and Trust His Heart, are all considered modern church classics. As a matter of fact, her signature song, All Rise has been one of the most recorded songs in church music since the late 1980’s.  Some of the nation’s most popular Gospel and Christian recording artists such as CeCe Winans, Larnelle Harris, Albertina Walker, Steve Green and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir have all recorded her music. Her songs have been featured on such hit television shows as Showtime At The Apollo and even on the silver screen, contributing to such movies as Denzel Washington’s Déjà vu.

 

With a demanding tour schedule, Babbie finds time to host The Inner Circle, a weekend music conference for up and coming singers and songwriters.  She teaches songwriting at the college level and enjoys hosting the popular TV talk show Babbie’s House, seen in the United States and abroad.  The author of two books, the latest of which is titled, Faith Lift (Charisma House), Babbie is also a sought after music guest, speaker and worship leader for some of the most popular women’s conferences, including Women of Faith, Kay Arthur’s National Women’s Conference, The Beth Moore Conference, Ann Graham Lotz’s Just Give Me Jesus Conference and Priscilla Shirer’s Desperate For Jesus Conference.

 

Babbie and Charles, her husband of 27 years, reside on a farm in rural Georgia, where she enjoys fishing, interior design and entertaining family and friends.
